The Niagara River Yacht Club was founded in 1957 at what was the Niagara Park Marina, located at 1010 River Road in North Tonawanda. The site was leased by the City of North Tonawanda to the Club. In 2006, the City of North Tonawanda cancelled the club's lease there and the former Dick Barry's/Schooners bar at 346 River Road was purchased for the new location of the club.
